Big Day Tomorrow!!!!

Super excited for tomorrow! Karma and I are going to be going to some agility run thrus around noon. I doubt I'll actually have her run the course, but it will be great exposure for her and we'll see how she does. I would let Abby tag along and would love to run her, but her allergies are still acting up and through her skin is looking better and her fur is growing back she still goes at it the second her cone is removed and causes some really nasty hot spots. So she'll be sitting this one out, but hopefully soon she'll be back to being able to play some agility!

Anyway after run thurs A friend and I are taking the dogs to the park to play! I'm really excited to see how they do. Karma at this point still loves playing with other dogs. So I'm hoping she'll have some fun running around with my friends Australian Kelpie Rory! They're both very similar as far as their energy level and just all around craziness so we're hoping they'll be a good match for each other. At any rate I'll have pics and I'm sure a story or two to share tomorrow...

New Collars

This picture does not do the collar...

So the mutt puppies got received their new collars today! I finally decided to give in and ordered them both biothane collars from GunDogSupply and what can I say...? I LOVE THEM!!! The best part is that they came with free name plates and we received them in a timely matter!

Anyway I decided on purple for Abby's collar since the color looks great on her and it matches her harnesses etc. Then after a really long internal debate I decided to try pink for Karma. Again the color also looks great on her! The only issue I have is the fact that Karma's collar is a little snug and I should've ordered the next size up, but it works so for now I'll keep it. All that's next on the list is Karma's freedom harness and I should be receiving that by the end of this week and can not wait!

Anyway once I get the chance to actually try the collar out I will attempt to do a review on it! But for now enjoy a couple of pics of the collars. I plan to get some with the pups modeling, but neither are feeling all that great so waiting till they feel more up to it...

Taking A Break

Got in touch with Abby's agility instructor and looks like until further notice we will be taking a break from agility. She was awesome and understanding and told me not to pay for this session and when she get's her clean bill of health just to let them know and we can return to class. But I think I'll probably take the entire session off. It'll be good for her and I think once we return to class she'll be more enthusiastic and happy to be there. So that's the plan for now and it helps me a lot since I've still got to sign Karma up for her classes.

I also think in general it might be good for her as she tends to be a bit of a stresshead in class settings(At trials however she is completely relaxed and non stressed). At any rate we'll still be trialing while we break from classes and hopefully she'll be feeling much better and able to compete at the October Trial. I'll update on her vet visit and hopefully we can get these allergies sorted out and my puppy feeling better, but until then baby girl is stuck with the cone of shame.

A New Beginning

So if you have ever read my other blogs I guess you guys are probably wandering "hey what's with the new blog you've only had your other ones are only a few months old?" Well I guess I should start by saying that well guesswhat? A certain brown and white muttface is officially staying! So for me it was just way easier to combine blogs since let's face it it's way easier to keep up with one blog than it is two. So voila!

Anyway onto the (not so) surprising news! Yes it seems that until further notice miss Karma has a permanent home right here with us! 4 dogs in one house is going to be a lot, but hoping next fall I will have moved out and be taking my two mutt puppies with me!

So since she is staying what can I say I have a whole list of goals I would love to accomplish with miss beaners. But of course for now we are starting off slow... Right now we're working on scheduling an eval with a local training club to determine which class is best suited for her. So hopefully this October/November she will be attending her first ever obedience classes and assuming those go well next year she will be starting Agility classes!
Now onto Abbers. Well what can I say? My poor girlie has had a really rough allergy season and recently had a pretty bad flare up and developed some nasty hot spots which have resulted with her ending up wearing the cone of shame. Poor girlie walks around and gets caught on everything, but she seems to have adjusted fine. We will hopefully be getting her into the clinic next week to figure out what can be done for her to help with the itching. But for now she's getting coconaut oil and benadryl to help. And until future notice looks like our agility is on hold. I'll probably have to contact our trainer and let her know we'll more than likely be out for a while until we can get this sorted out. She's aware of Abby's allergy issues, but hoepfully we'll be back to playing agility soon enough!

Anyway can't wait to see where me and my two mutt puppies go! I'm really looking forward to seeing what we will accomplish and can't wait to see what the future brings!
